Machame Route – “Whiskey Route”

This 7-day route is the most popular climb. It offers varied landscapes and good altitude adjustment with a success rate above 85%.

Marangu Route – “Coca-Cola Route”

The only route with hut accommodations instead of tents. It’s the easiest path but has lower summit success due to its shorter duration (5–6 days).

Lemosho Route – Best for Scenery & Success

Lemosho offers stunning views, less traffic, and great acclimatization. It’s ideal for those wanting a more relaxed 8-day hike.

Rongai Route – Northern Approach

Approaching from the Kenyan side, Rongai is a good choice for those climbing during the rainy months. It’s quieter and very scenic.

Northern Circuit – Longest & Quietest

The 9-day Northern Circuit is the newest and longest route. It circles the mountain and has the highest summit success rate.

Umbwe Route – Steep & Challenging

The shortest and steepest trail. Not ideal for beginners due to fast elevation gain. Best for seasoned hikers with altitude experience.
